Lot’s Captivity and Rescue

a. When Lot went to Gomorrah first, he settled outside of Gomorrah. (Sodom)
Ge 13:12 “12 Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom.”
b. Verse 12 we see him “In Gomorrah.”
c. The word tells us to be in the world but not of it.
John 15:19 ESV
19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Mark 8:36 ESV
36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?
