James 5:13-20

Jesus’s righteousness, like robe we wear, has been placed on us. This is the dripping wet from baptism image.
So God calls us righteous and as righteous sons/daughters, we engage in priestly ministry.

Your primary purpose as a believers is to minister within God’s family.

Ephesians 4:11–16
If you are not actively engaging in ministry, you have stalled your maturity, and so are those you’re assigned to minister to.
‌my primary responsibility to is to equip saints (thats you) for ministry…helping you mature.

Ministry of personal prayer + intercession

Ministry to the Father in our worship

Ministry to the body of Christ through tangible embodied acts.

‌Lay Hands & Anoint with oil
Confess Sin & forgive
Restore the fallen
2 Corinthians 5:11 -21

Ministry of Reconciliation is a ministry of tangible love, reconnecting people back to God.

distraction. disillusioned. discontent. disconnected.
requires patience and pursuit and risk.
How can we minister to those who wander or don’t believe?

Ministry of Reconciliation involves being a trustworthy witness.

(1) Live with integrity
you wont’ be perfect, but you don’t have to be a hypocrite. a hypocrite is not someone who believes something and then fails to live up to it. a hypocrite is a pretender, play actor, or poser…one who believes something, doesn’t live congruent with the belief and then pretends it’s not a big deal or play acts like they didn’t do anything wrong.
(2) Practice within the family
serve. join a group to learn how to discuss truth in loving ways. minister. practice generosity, prayer, worship, forgiveness and reconciliation.
(3) Know the Truth
(4) Share your story, inviting people to come along too
(5) Open Your Eyes & Heart.
everyone needs to be known by someone. if you settle for shallow interactions and being familiar with people, no one is going to come after you cause they don’t actually know you. You wont go after them either, you have not relationship with them.
who haven’t you seen in a while? call them.
Who needs an invite to Cmas Service? Invite them.

PRACTICING THE WAY
As disciples of Jesus, we know our allegiance to Him as King is expressed in our daily practice. We are not pursuing perfection but want to practice our faith each day. These practices will point you toward spiritual formation as an apprentice (disciple) to Jesus.
(1) Start the Bible Recap reading plan.
(2) Recite this prayer/liturgy daily: “Jesus, you are my LORD and Savior. I submit my life to You today. Lead me. Guide me. Protect me. I choose to cling to hope. And when I face hardships, may I keep eagerly waiting for the promise of Your return. And when painful moments come, may I pursue Your presence and tender mercies. Amen.”
(3) Talk it Over (with friends, a spouse, or your Group)
