Miracle’s Come With Instructions

John 2:1–5 TPT
1 Now on the third day there was a wedding feast in the Galilean village of Cana, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Jesus and his disciples were all invited to the banquet, but with so many guests in attendance, they ran out of wine. And when Mary realized it, she came to him and asked, “They have no wine, can’t you do something about it?4 Jesus replied, “My dear one, don’t you understand that if I do this, it won’t change anything for you, but it will change everything for me! My hour of unveiling my power has not yet come.” 5 Mary then went to the servers and told them, “Whatever Jesus tells you, make sure that you do it!”
Todays Topic Message:
John 2:5 (TPT)
5 “Whatever Jesus tells you, make sure that you do it!”

Bible Passage: John 2:5

Summary: In this brief but profound verse, Mary instructs the servants at the wedding in Cana to do whatever Jesus tells them, illustrating the importance of obedience and faith in His commands.
Application: This sermon can inspire Christians to trust in Jesus’ guidance and commands in their daily lives, leading them to rely on His wisdom and authority in times of uncertainty or challenge.
Teaching: The sermon teaches the importance of obedience to Christ and emphasizes that true faith manifests through action, urging listeners to apply Jesus’ teachings to their lives consistently.
How this passage could point to Christ: This passage points to Christ's authority and His power over ordinary situations to bring about miraculous results, foreshadowing His role as the Savior who transforms our lives.
Big Idea: True obedience to Christ is the pathway to experiencing His miraculous work in our lives.
1. Embracing Mary's Instruction
John 2:1–5 “1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” \
Mary’s words to the servants set the stage for acknowledging Christ's authority. Her directive, "Do whatever He tells you," highlights complete trust and submission to Jesus’ wisdom.
This instruction, though simple, calls believers to a profound faith that listens intently and acts decisively, anticipating that Jesus can transform any situation.
This should challenge you to evaluate your readiness to obey Christ in everyday complexities.

2. Manifesting Through Obedience

John 2:6–10 “6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.”
The process and power of obedience.
The servants fill the jars with water, following Jesus’ instructions without questioning the outcome. This illustrates how obedience to Jesus, even in mundane tasks, can lead to extraordinary results.
God’s power manifest when we act with faith, trusting in His divine plan even when it does not initially make sense.
1 Kings 17:13 KJV
13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
Someone is about to manifest in a miracle because of obedience.
Manifest MAN-uh-fest To make openly known; appear. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was MANIFEST in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. (1 Timothy 3:16)

3. Revealing Christ’s Glory

John 2:11 “11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.”
This miracle at Cana was not just a wedding wonder but a sign pointing to Jesus’ divine identity and mission.
Reflect on how our obedience to Christ not only affects our lives but also serves as a testament to others, drawing them towards a deeper faith in Jesus through the evidence of His transformative work.
Final Point:
The Loop Hole:
Genesis 4:6–7 NLT
6 “Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? 7 You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”
Colossians 2:14 TPT
14 He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all—our sins, our stained soul—he deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation.
Hebrews 10:26–31 TPT
26 For if we continue to persist in deliberate sin after we have known and received the truth, there is not another sacrifice for sin to be made for us. 27 But this would qualify one for the certain, terrifying expectation of judgment and the raging fire ready to burn up his enemies! 28 Anyone who disobeyed Moses’ law died without mercy on the simple evidence of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you suppose a person deserves to be judged who has contempt for God’s Son, and who scorns the blood of the new covenant that made him holy, and who mocks the Spirit who gives him grace? 30 For we know him who said, “I have the right to take revenge and pay them back for their evil!” And also, “The Lord God will judge his own people!” 31 It is the most terrifying thing of all to come under the judgment of the Living God!

Y15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
