A. Clean Up
B. Prepare
C. Wait Expectantly
— Skepticism- No one is coming
Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
so you can avoid trouble by always being ready for my unannounced return.
Transformation
Examples of those Waiting for the Promise:
Job kept his hope:
Job 19:25 (LSB)
“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,
And at the last He will rise up over the dust of this world.
Job 19:25 (GNB)
But I know there is someone in heaven
who will come at last to my defence.
Job 19:25 (MSG)
Still, I know that God lives—the One who gives me back my life—
and eventually he’ll take his stand on earth.
Caleb had a different spirit:
But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.
Definitely didn’t follow the crowd!
And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in.
Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.”
Abraham gave Glory to God:
And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God,
3 Questions:
What is God saying to you?
What are you going to do about it?
How can I pray for you?
