Vision Casting and Review (5 minutes)
Vision Casting and Review (5 minutes)
If Christianity is a team sport and the church is Christ’s team, what would winning be? What is the church supposed to be and do to win?
Coaching and Practice (35 minutes)
Coaching and Practice (35 minutes)
What part is the church supposed to play in making disciples?
What is your personal role, as commanded in God’s word, in helping the church make disciples?
Tell the group about an encounter you had sharing with someone about the church’s first priority of making disciples. Were you challenged to defend this point of view?
How does Jesus’ example and John 17 provide that defense?
How would you know when your work with someone you were discipling was complete?
How can our work of making disciples be completed and yet the process continue on until Jesus returns?
What three reasons did you give for why the church in America is not overcoming the enemy?
Games Plan and Strategy (20 minutes)
Games Plan and Strategy (20 minutes)
Read 1 Corinthians 12:14-20
14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.
15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?
18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
20 But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.
Where did you place the x on the field diagram? Why do you think you have spent most of the last two years in that place?
Look again at Matthew 28:18-20. How has your understanding of making disciples changed?
18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
