The Apostle Paul emphatically stated:
And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up, if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!

But praise be to God, Christ has risen from the dead, exalted and thoses who follow Him will also be raised and exalted by God.

RESURRECTED FROM THE DEAD
RESURRECTED FROM THE DEAD
I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
First, here David expresses his personal relationship with God and the hope that is to come. David could trust that in this life God was fulfilling His purpose, which was a cause of joy for David.
Second, if anything happened to David including death, his soul belonged in the presence of God. Like wise for every believer in Christ, they will not be abandoned to death or decay.
Just as death, outside of Christ is separation from God the Father for eternally. For those who have excepted the gift of Christ, the power of His blood is greater than the power of death.
Because of his relationship and therefore his hope in God:
he could stand alongside the the God that is king of kings
the God is served was with him in the here and now
and then and after

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. For David says concerning Him:
‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face, For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken. Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.’
“Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.
The Jewish leaders were responsible for the death of Jesus, but, it was all part of God the Father’s plan of redemption. Peter’s sermon on that first Pentecost day, reminded them of the message that Jesus of Nazareth was the long awaited Messiah.
Psalm 22 prophesied the Messiah would suffer and die by crucifixion and although Christ enemies though His death would be the end of His ministry, it was not.
God’s power raised Him from the grave and defeated death once and for all. Jesus ministry does not depend on the affirmation of human wisdom, but on the authority of divine foreknowledge.
David died like every king before him, but he knew that one day a great King would come to deliver his people from sin.
Peter also testified he and the disciples were “all witnesses” to the resurrected Christ. The resurrection of Christ proved He is the Messiah and King of Kings, and Lord of all.

Both Lord and Son
Both Lord and Son
The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies!
As we look at these scriptures, both Old and New Testaments proclaim the deity of the One who came to save and to reign.
Jesus himself explained that this psalm spoke of the Messiah as greater than David. (Mark 12:35-37). Peter is using this psalm to show that Jesus, the Messiah sits at God’s right hand and is Lord over all.
While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?” They said to Him, “The Son of David.” He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying: ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool” ’? If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.
Lord of All
Lord of All
Jesus is sitting with the Pharisees, Herodians, and Sadducees, the clergy, bishops of their day. The Pharisees knew that the Messiah would be a descendant of David, but they did not understand that He would be God himself. Jesus is quoting Psalm 110 to show that the Messiah would be greater than David.
Another important point that Jesus makes is that David wrote the psalm under the guidance of the Holy Spirit; David was “speaking by the Spirit,” Jesus says (verse 43).
So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
According to Mark and 1 Peter, Jesus is in heaven right now at the right hand of God the Father. Luke 24, and Acts 1 describe the bodily ascension of Jesus, which occurred 40 days after His resurrection.
Jesus had told His disciples that He was going to prepare a place for them and for all believers John 14.
It is plain from Scripture that Jesus’ ascension was a literal and
bodily return to heaven. He was received into a cloud while His disciples and other astonished onlookers gazed in wonder. Then two angels appeared and promised Christ’s return in just the same way they watched Him go.
HEIR TO THE ETERNAL THRONE
HEIR TO THE ETERNAL THRONE
And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.
God’s kingdom will never be destroyed
God’s kingdom will never be destroyed
God will, setup and establish His kingdom
His kingdom will never be destroyed
From His eternal throne, God will rule over all the nations
Hus kingdom will stand forever

But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” And: “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail.” But to which of the angels has He ever said: “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”? Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
Conclusion:
Conclusion:
The resurrection of Jesus from the dead changed everything. The story of Jesus does not begin in the New Testament Gospels, but is foretold by the Old Testament Psalms and prophetic books.
From the garden of Eden, God promised a Savior who would rescue us from the curse of sin. Prophets foresaw His coming and the world waited.
All the messianic prophecies find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ being seated on His throne in victory.
