NO Divisions
In a small church, two members, Mike and Milo, could never agree on the color of the church's new paint.
Mike insisted on blue because it reminded him of the sky,
while Milo was adamant about green, loving the calm of the trees.
Then in the midst of there confusion comes their wife’s
Lets call them Jenny and Gloria
they decided to create a mural combining both colors
—now the church has both blue skies and green fields,
a perfect picture of unity!
Working together for the Church, using the Community, to shape a God honoring Culture
Much like in our faith, we may have differences, but together we can create something beautiful
That beauty is Harmony in the Word - Unity in our commitment to the Word.
One Truth - One Lord - One Mind
We must be in Unity
Unity is not a pretty thought or simply a good goal
it is the LIFESTYLE
it is part of our Mission to LIVE IN CHRIST
BE ONE MINDED
We must be focused on LIVING RIGHTLY
BUT must master the ART OF LOVE
in
times of conflict.
We need to learn to work together, and put our pride aside.
You really do not have to be RIGHT
We are missing the point......
Look at Paul in Verses 14-17
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,
15 so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name.
16 (I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.)
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
Calls out that it is not Baptizing that Saves you.
He doesn’t dismiss the importance at all but rather
REMINDS us of the Focus
The Focus MUST be on the Gospel
Our Focus MUST be active in our daily life.
Preach the Gospel ==== ALWAYS at ALL TIMES
Christ is not divided -—
His CHURCH SHOULDN’T Be EITHER
OUR CHURCH<
OUR COMMUNITY<
OUR CULTURE
must not be DIVIDED
We don’t define CHRIST,
CHRIST defines US
It is not our mission to FOCUS on counting Baptisms,
or attendance or serving missions
but RATHER Preaching the GOOD NEWS of CHRIST
DO YOU PREACH IT DAILY?

What can we therefore deduce from our Message today
That we must be FOCUS, TRAINED and Rightly CENTERED on the MISSION.
We must be UNITED
ONE MINDED
not by our DENOMINATION
nor our CONGREGATION
But UNITED SOLELY and FULLY on JESUS
TEAM JESUS
Friends -— in my little Southern Baptist Circle
I hear the hint of division --— REFORMED, CALVINIST
VS
Arminianism;
a theological viewpoint that emphasizes human free will in salvation,
contrasting with Reformed theology's emphasis
on God's sovereign predestination in choosing who will be saved
Free Will vs God’s Sovereignty
WHY -— because We all like to be RIGHT
Our LOYALTY must be to CHRIST -—
not a THEOLOGY
Committed to HIS WORD
Wear your LOYAL and your OBEDIENCE
in your LIFE in every moment
2. Commit to LEARNING so that you KNOW how to LIVE
---If you have never heard those terms -— WE HAVE A CLASS FOR THAT :}
3. Invite yourself and OTHERS to ENGAGE
We love you here at HORIZON, and WE ARE Committed
TO GLORIFYING GOD, and GROWING OTHERS
THIS IS MY CALL TO YOU.
COME AND KNOW
KNOW and PRACTICE
KNOW AND SHOW THE WORLD
We are UNDER a CALL TO ACTION

that is the way of the WORLD
JESUS commands us to
GO and SHARE -— Gather and LEARN
-— UNITE AND GROW OTHERS
Believe, Baptize, Belong, BECOME, and Know HIS BLESSINGS

So Paul has now called for UNITY,
no Divisions among Believers or PRACTITIONERS
Lets discuss the simple command.
It is to PREACH ONE GOSPEL.
And since the Gospel is what glues us together
we must be on the same page.
How do people believe rightly
IF we teach variety of Theology ---
IF the CHURCH doesn’t stand FIRM
the unsaved see it --— They see the disunity
SO WHY WOULD THEY COME TO CHURCH
to solve the WORLD PROBLEM
when THEY SEE THE WORLD IN CHURCH -— and NOT CHRIST
They walk away -— rather than walk away
The church must preach CHRIST -— CLEARLY and as ONE
CHRIST ORDAINED --— NOT MAN’s WISDOM mixed in
18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”
20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.
We have determined that Wisdom is Knowledge and Experience.
Hence we can have head knowledge and not apply it,
or we can have experiences yet not learn the lessons.
Wisdom is a gift from the Lord
and a MARK of the Wise
