3/4/25
Introduction:
The purpose of God is all encompassing in its scope. (consider Col1:9-2:14 and Eph1:3ff)
It encompasses, eternity and time (Eph1:4, 10)
It encompasses God’s concern for sinful man (Eph1:7-12)
It encompasses the reconciliation of all people into one body, the church (Eph1:22-23, 2:14-22)
It encompasses the working out of God’s scheme of redemption on earth (Eph1:3-5; 3:1-11)
It encompasses conflict in the spiritual places, the heavenlies (Eph6:10-12)
It encompasses a Redeemer in order that lost souls can be saved. (Eph1:3-7)
The Redeemer is Jesus Christ, He was purposed and promised (Eph1)
Giving us every spiritual blessing (Eph1:3)
Giving us redemption through His blood (Eph1:7)
and that all things are summed up in Him (Eph1:10-12)
Aim:
To clearly set forth Jesus as our Redeemer
Redeeming us from the power of sin (1Cor15:55-58; Jn8:21, 24, Gal1:4)
Redeeming us from the penalty, the punishment of sin (Mt10:28; 25:46)
To show that God’s eternal purpose and his promise of blessings through Abraham’s seed, has provided everything necessary for our redemption through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer (Lk9:56)
Please note down some scriptures for you to review and be reminded of (Gen22:17-18; Gal3:8, 16; Gen3:15, and Gal4:4)
Outline:
Our Redeemer is personal.
He loved me! (Gal2:20; Jn3:16, 1Jn4:9-10)
It is an intimate relationship offered to those who obey the gospel. (Rom6:1-11, 17, Eph1:13-14; 1Cor15:1-4 and Col3:1-4)
For we die with Christ
For we are united with Christ.
For we are raised with Christ.
When we are baptized into Christ it is in response of an obedient faith. we “obey the form of doctrine,” the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (ref: Rom6:17)
Our Redeemer is perfect.
Perfect in every way (Heb34:14-16, 5:7-9; 1Pt2:21-24)
He is the Savior Anything anyone says outside of that falls short (1Cor2:2).
He is the announced Savior (Mt1:21; Jn1:29)
He is the affirmed Savior (1Jn4:14; Act4:10)
Our Redeemer is powerful
His power; His authority is set forth (Mt28:18, Mk4:41)
Seen in His works (Jn11:24-25)
Seen in His walk (Jn7:46, 12:48-50)
Seen in His crucifixion (Jn10:17-18)
Triumphing over sin and death 1Cor15:55ff; Rom8:1-3)
Triumphing over Satan (Heb2:14; 1Jn3:8)
Triumphing over ordinances, principalities and powers (Col2:14f)
Triumphing through His blood (Eph1:7; Rev1:5)
Seen in His resurrection. (Rom1:4; Rev1:17-19; Rom6:9-10)
Seen in His ascension (Act1:9-11; Eph4:8-9)
Seen in His present ministry as our High Priest (Heb1:1-8; Heb4:14-16; 1Tim2:5)
Being assured that he is the one who has the power to save (Heb7:25)
Our redeemer continues to plead
Come to Me; bear the cross (Lk9:23)
Come to Me; for life (Jn7:37-39; Rev22:17)
Come to Me; for rest (Mt11:28-30)
Conclusion:
Jesus is the way for our redemption (Jn14:6)
There is no other way (Act4:12)
The bible is God’s word from start to finish of His scheme of redemption, His eternal purpose is realized in Christ, our Redeemer.
He was planed, purposed from the beginning by Gods predetermined plan, with foreknowledge and seen through all the ages and was presented at the fulness of time
Salvation is available to all through our Redeemer (2Cor5:19-6:2)

The Redeemed: purposed and promised (Lesson 48 to be done with lesson 47)
Introduction:
The church is the body of Christ, it is the redeemed (Eph1:7, 23, 5:23)
The Church, the redeemed is according to God’s eternal purpose and promise (Eph3:1-11)
Aim:
To clearly show that the church is not an afterthought of God, it is a part of His Scheme of redemption
To come to appreciate even more that the Church is His glorious body, that was blood-bought (Eph3:8-11, 20-21)
The center of God’s eternal purpose was Christ and His church (1Pt1:10-12)
God’s predetermined plan is fulfilled in Christ and His church.
Outline:
The church is through divine wisdom and purpose founded and grounded in Christ Jesus.
It is the fullness of Christ (Eph1:23)
It is alive in Christ (Eph2:5)
It is the reconciled body(Eph2:14-16)
It is the temple of the Lord (Eph2:21)
It is the habitation of God (Eph2:22)
It is the glory of God (Eph3:20-21)
It is the unity of the Spirit (Eph4:3-5)
It is the bride of Christ (Eph5:23-24)
It is the army of God (Eph6:13)
The church is important, it is part of God’s eternal purpose in Christ Jesus.
The church is subjected to Him (Eph5:22-24)
The church is saved by Him (Eph5:23)
The church is loved by Him (Eph5:25, 29)
The church is ransomed by Him (Eph5:25)
The church is cleansed by Him (Eph5:26-27)
Conclusion:
We are the church, we were promised, purposed and fulfilled through the blood of Jesus Christ (Act20:28)
We are not man made nor man devised.
The church is not a sect or a denomination.
It is not an afterthought of God, it is eternal and in Its nature; His!
Christ had an eternal purpose an eternal plan, an eternal mission:
He died for His church (Act20:28, Eph5:25)
He intercedes for His church (Heb7:25)
He is coming back for His church (Eph5:23, 27, 1The4:13-18; and 2The1:7-10)
Let us rejoice in God’s eternal purpose, Christ’s eternal purpose, His purchasing of the Church, His redeeming the church and making the way for all to repent and come to true knowledge of Him (Jesus) who is the way.
