If you have your Bibles we will begin at
Today we are going to talk about just Jesus. The glorious Jesus that died for our sins. The Jesus that came before to set the world free and the Jesus that comes back so that we can spend eternity with our Holy Father
I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”
Here we get the vision of Jesus coming to visit John. Can you image being visited by the Lord Jesus
I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.
What do you think of when you think of Jesus? As we see as we get further in our talk, Jesus loves us but He is also the one that is King of everything. We need to remeber that part of it. He is the King of heaven and earth
The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.
Some of this shows us that Jesus has been here the whole time. Jesus is in the Old Testament. Jesus has always been there and will always be here when He comes back for us.
“As I looked, “thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze.
Daniel saw the same vision of Jesus.
Then the man brought me to the gate facing east, and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory.
Ezekiel also has the same vision of Jesus. These prophets prove the Bible, they prove that Jesus has always been here.
In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
Now here is where a lot people make a mistake when talking about the return of Jesus. The sword is not an actual physical it is something much stronger , the Word of God
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
These is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. The Word of God gives us the ability to see ourselves for who we are. It will help you in life determine what is a good decision or not. It needs to be the foundation of your life. When Jesus comes back it He will come back speaking the Word of God just like He did the first time He came down to us.
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
John falls to his knees at the feet of Jesus but we are not to be afraid of Jesus but He is the Lord of everything.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”
Peter does the same thing when he meets Jesus.
The Glory of the Lord
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.
Now here is what they were saying
And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”
John, Peter and Isaiah , they all had the correct response when they are presented with the Glory of God. We will now go to our knees at the front if anyone wants to join us you may come up front.
Let us pray
