Result: Stress, early submission, or missed deadline.

TRANSITION: JESUS WANTS YOU AND I TO HEAR HIM AND TO FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS SO THAT YOU CAN HEAR HIS OFFER OF HOPE FOR A NEW LIFE!
THIS MORNING JESUS WANTS YOU TO HEAR

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
IN THESE VERSES JESUS DECLARES THAT HE IS THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE TO A GRIEVING SISTER. HE SOUGHT TO SHIFT HER FOCUS
BECAUSE SHE SAID IN VERSE 21 “IF YOU HAD BEEN HER, MY BROTHER WOULD NOT HAVE DIED.”
MARTHA WAS GRIEVING AND JESUS WANTED TO MOVE HER
FROM GRIEF TO GLADNESS
FROM HEARTACHE TO HOPE
FROM ANGUISH to ASPIRATION
BY TELLING HER FIRST
23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
SHE REPLIED BY SAYING SHE KNEW HE WOULD “AT THE LAST DAY”
BUT JESUS SAID IN VERSE 25
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
HE TOLD HER THAT I AM THE RESURRECTION
I AM THE AUTHOR OF RESURRECTION
BECAUSE JESUS WAS GOD IN HUMAN FLESH.
RISING FROM THE DEAD BEGINS WITH HIM
NEW LIFE BEGINS WITH HIM
HE IS THE LIFE
HE IS THE BREAD OF LIFE
HE IS THE PRINCE OF LIFE
IN HIM THERE IS
ABUNDANT LIFE
LIFE EVERLASTING
HIS IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF LIFE
HE PROVIDES ETERNAL LIFE
WHICH IS WHY HE SAID IN VERSE 26
26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
DID YOU HEAR HIM?

DO YOU BELIEVE HIM?
LIVING IS FOUND IN HIM
DO YOU BELIEVE THAT
JESUS IS
THE WAY THAT NEVER LEADS ASTRAY
THE TRUTH THAT NEVER LIES
THE STANDARD THAT NEVER CHANGES
THE TEACHER THAT NEVER DECEIVES
THE JUDGE THAT NEVER MISJUDGES
THE COUNSELOR THAT NEVER BETRAYS

38 Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it.
39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”
WHAT? TAKE AWAY THE STONE?
JESUS PLACED HIMSELF IN IMPOSSIBLE SITUATIONS
NO WINE
NO TIME
NOT ENOUGH FOOD
NO SIGHT
NO LIFE
SHE WAS LOOKING AT THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND FORGOT WHO WAS ASKING THE QUESTIONS
DON’T FOCUS on the problem
FOCUS ON the Problem-solver.
DON’T FOCUS ON the challenges
FOCUS ON Christ.
DON’T FOCUS ON the MESS OR MISFORTUNE
FOCUS ON the Master.
WHY? LISTEN TO HIS WORDS TO HER IN VERSE 40
40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”
DID YOU HEAR HIM?

DID NOT I SAY TO YOU?
IF YOU WOULD BELIEVE, YOU WOULD SEE
THE GREATNESS OF GOD
THE GOODNESS OF GOD
THE BEAUTY OF GOD
DON’T LISTEN TO
THE RHETORIC OF Politicians,
IS YOUR MIND FILLED WITH THE REPORTS OF THE News CHANNELS
IS YOUR MIND FILLED WITH THE OPINION OF Activists,
THE POSITIONS OF Professional Athletes,
THE THOUGHTS OF TV personalities,
BELIEVE HIM! HEAR HIS OBJECT
CHRIST WANTS YOU TO SEE GOD’S GLORY
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
To heal the sick, raise the dead, and open the blinded eye

42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”
HIS ABILITY TO CALL THOSE WHO ARE DEAD TO LIFE
HIS AUTHORITY OVER DEATH
NO MOVEMENT NO MIRACLE
NO
EVEN THE DEAD NEED TO HEAR
LAZARUS WAS DEAD PHYSICALLY
YET, JESUS’ VOICE GOES BEYOND THE LAND OF THE DEAD AFS
LOOK AT VERSE 43
43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”
JESUS IS STILL CALLING THOSE WHO ARE SPIRITUALLY DEAD.
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
I WAS DEAD IN TRESPASSES AND SIN
BUT CHRIST SPOKE TO ME AND SAID
COME FORTH.
I CAME FORTH BY FAITH
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
HE AWAKEN ME!
COLOSSIANS SAYS
13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
I WAS BORN AGAIN
I WAS REGENERATED
HE GAVE ME NEW LIFE
WHAT ABOUT YOU HAVE YOU HEARD HIS ORDER TO
COME OUT OF DARKNESS INTO HIS MARVELOUS LIGHT

LOOK AT VERSE 44
44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

Isaiah 1:18 “18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”

DON’T LET A POOR SIGNAL DISRUPT HIS COMMAND
YOU ARE TOO FAR AWAY
COME CLOSER TO HIM!
DON’T ALLOW THE NOISE OF YOUR SURROUNDING TO CAUSE YOU TO MISHEAR HIS ORDER
TUNE IN TO HIS VOICE
DON’T MISUNDERSTAND HIS INSTRUCTIONS
DON’T HEAR WRONG! HEAR RIGHT!
