A season of thanksgiving. But wait. What about the things occurring around us? What about the political issues? What about the sickness of people we know? What about the uncertain future?
Should we be anxious? Or can we be thankful?
The truth is the Lord is faithful. Already He has worked and is worthy of praise. In the future He will work and be worthy of praise. No matter the need He is worthy of thanks and praise.
Do we have needs this morning? Do we have anxiety? Let us do our part – cry out to Him. He will work. He will meet the deepest needs.
And so the Psalmist declares.
(ESV) Psalms 107 1 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble 3 and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
Whatever the need – cry out to Him, find Him faithful, and give thanks.

(ESV) Psalms 107 23 Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; 24 they saw the deeds of the LORD, his wondrous works in the deep. 25 For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. 26 They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight; 27 they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end.
