We know that Paul is the author because of the first person I used throught the leter.
We know that Paul has been imprisoned
Philipians is known as the book of Joy. Paul wants the saints live in the joy of the Lord instead of their joy or the lack there of because of their “Circumstances”. The Joy that the the believer posses unlike those that do not belong to Jesus is a joy that consists of internal stability in spite of external circumstances.
This leter was also writen to give correction. Pual instructed the church to bring the mindset of Christ into the church rather than conforming to the world’s mindset.
Remember 1:21,”For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Paul’s purpose was to glorify Christ at any cost.
As followers of Christ we are called to live in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Christ.(1:27) I see this as living in Victory no matter the circumstance knowing that God is soverign and no matter what, He is good.
2 1-4 If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if His love has made any difference in your life, walk in unity!
